Skilled Migration Visas / Skilled workers visa


Australia Skilled Independent Visa | Australia Skilled Workers Visa (Subclass 175 Visa)

If you do not have a blood relative in Australia, skilled independent visa (subclass 175) would be the most suitable category for you. You need to score a minimum of 120 points in the points test to be eligible to apply for a subclass 175 visa. Points are given for age, occupation, English language ability, work experience, spouse skills, Australian educational qualification and occupation in demand. You may also be eligible for bonus points if your occupation is in demand in Australia. If you meet the criteria’s below you will be granted 5 Years indefinite live to Australia which can be easily converted in to Australia Citizenship.

Eligibility for skilled independent visa (subclass 175) for Australia

To be eligible to apply for a Australian Skilled - Independent (subclass 175) / skilled workers visa, applicants must meet certain requirements.

  • The person applying must be under 45 years of age.
  • Applicants must meet the English language requirement threshold of:
    competent English;
    or
    vocational English if the applicant's nominated occupation is a trade
  • The applicant must nominate an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and have a suitable skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for the nominated occupation.
  • The person applying must have either: been employed for 12 out of the last 24 months in an occupation listed on the SOL; or met the two year study requirement in the last six months with Australian qualifications closely related to the nominated occupation

The applicant must meet the points test threshold of 120 points and pass all health and character requirements. If you are unable to score 120 points in above category you may still be eligible for the regional Skilled Regional Sponsored visa for Australia.

Australian Skilled Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176 Visa)

You could be able to apply under Australian skilled sponsored (migrant) visa - subclass 176 category, if you have an occupation that is in demand in one of the State/Territories of Australia or have blood relative in Australia. You should be related to him/ her as :

  • a non-dependent child (natural, adoptive or step-child) or
  • a parent (including adoptive or step parent) or
  • a brother or sister (natural, adoptive or step-sibling) or
  • a niece or nephew (natural, adoptive or step-niece or nephew)
  • an aunt or uncle (natural, adoptive or step aunt or uncle).

The subclass 176 visa category is also for those who secure a nomination from a State/Territory government (the erstwhile STNI scheme) & you should not to be confused with the State/Territory sponsored regional visa. 10 points are also awarded for the nomination & thus the actual points required to be scored by the applicant is reduced to 90. However, the occupations that appear in the shortage list of a State/Territory government & other conditions placed would need to be satisfied. If you meet the criteria’s below you will be granted 5 Years indefinite live to Australia which can be easily converted in to Australia Citizenship.

Eligibility for a Australian skilled sponsored (migrant) visa - subclass 176 visa

To be eligible to apply for a Skilled - Sponsored (Migrant) visa - subclass 176, applicants must meet certain requirements.

  • The person applying must be under 45 years of age and be sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia or a state/territory government.
  • Applicants must meet the English language requirement threshold of:
    Competent English;
    or
    Vocational English if the applicant's nominated occupation is a trade
  • The applicant must nominate an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and have a suitable skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for the nominated occupation.
  • The person applying must have either:
    been employed for 12 out of the last 24 months in an occupation listed on the SOL; or
    met the two year study requirement in the last six months with Australian qualifications closely related to the nominated occupation

The applicant must meet the points test threshold of 100 points and pass all health and character requirements. If you are unable to score 100 points in above category you may still be eligible for the regional Skilled Regional Sponsored visa for Australia.

Australian Skilled - Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 475 Visa)

You could be able to apply under skilled regional visa (subclass 475) category, if you have a occupation which is in demand in one of the regional State/Territories of Australia or have blood relative in living in designated areas of Australia and you are related to him/her as a

  • a non-dependent child (natural, adoptive or step-child) or
  • a parent (including adoptive or step parent) or
  • a brother or sister (natural, adoptive or step-sibling) or
  • a niece or nephew (natural, adoptive or step-niece or nephew) or
  • an aunt or uncle (natural, adoptive or step aunt or uncle)
  • a first cousin or
  • a grand child.

The pass mark for skilled regional sponsored visa (subclass 475) is 100. If sponsorship is from a relative, 25 extra points are available (making the points required to be scored to 75) & if sponsored by a State/Territory government, the sponsorship points available are 10 (thus reducing the points to be scored to only 90). The subclass 475 visa is given for a period of 3 years and in order to get the permanent visa, the holder will have to reside in the regional area for a minimum of 2 years and should have worked for at least 1 year.

Eligibility for skilled regional sponsored visa (subclass 475)

To be eligible to apply for a Skilled - Regional Sponsored (subclass 475) visa, applicants must meet certain requirements.

  • The person applying must be under 45 years of age and be sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area or sponsored by a state/territory government.
  • Applicants must meet the English language requirement threshold of:
  • competent English; or
  • vocational English if the applicant's nominated occupation is a trade
  • concessional competent English if the applicant has paid a fee to attend an English language course in a participating state or territory.
  • The applicant must nominate an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and have a suitable skills assessment from the relevent assessing authority for the nominated occupation.
  • The person applying must have either:
  • been employed for 12 out of the last 24 months in an occupation listed on the SOL; or
  • met the two year study requirement in the last six months with Australian qualifications closely related to the nominated occupation.

The applicant must meet the points test threshold of 100 points and pass all health and character requirements.
